For the week of Wednesday 25 March through Tuesday 31 March
If you woke up feeling very emotional this morning, it could set you off for a week with a bit of a roller coaster feel. If your take everything personally, if you can’t interact with people without having a feeling that they are picking at you, maybe you should take a step back and voice your discomfort with a close friend, your partner or a member of your family. It’s not because you are a mom now that you have to carry everything on your shoulders on your own.
If you’ve had financial concerns some time over the past few months, this week could see your situation become stable again. You may feel on top of the world for a second but remember that it’s only relief and you need to maintain a strict line when it comes to expenses. In any case, organizing an activity for the weekend that would be enjoyable for your little one(s) and also the big one in your life could be a good way to avoid frustration without breaking the bank.
You are in such good shape and feeling so energized that you’ll want to share the good vibrations. Be careful to not take all the space, though. Teenagers are touchy about their “freedom”. Even though you have the best intentions, your motivation to please them could quickly backfire. Instead of planning ahead a surprise and delivering it “like they had nothing to say about it” (does that sound familiar, huh?), start a conversation, ask them what they’d like to do, share your enthusiasm and they should ride along.
In the case of tensions with a member of your extended family, try to keep your children out of the argument. Even though it can be tempting to ask the young adults in the family to position themselves, turning them into litigators is likely to only make the conversation harder. They were kids not that long ago and don’t need to know all the details of what happened before they were even born. If your child is starting a new job or internship, there could be amazing outcomes in terms of career prospects.
